Niall Duncan

About him

Niall loves the outdoors getting involved in various sports such as fishing, sailing, rugby, hiking, climbing, kayaking, skiing … and not forgetting shooting.

After leaving school Niall decided to take a gap year and went off to Kenya to work on a cattle ranch and conservation reserve where, despite having some of his best memories, he also experienced too many close encounters with the wild animals so decided that it would be better to visit a colder climate and took to apres-ski (or rather ski-instructing) in Austria.

Niall is considering developing his shooting skills through a career in the military, however right now he has gone back to school with a two year "Game and Wildlife Management" course at Sparsholt College in Winchester. Upon joining Niall was delighted to find a whole study unit dedicated to "firearms and their usage" - bliss !!

Shooting experience

Niall has always had a passion for guns since he was a child and first began shooting in 2006 when he joined the Oratory school where he shot .22, Cadet GP, Cadet Target rifle and shotgun. In his final year he shot with the UK cadet long range team and has also represented the West of Scotland as well as the Scottish Rifle Association and the GB u25 on occasions, though he is yet to receive a Scotland and the full GB Cap. He is also among the originating members of the Oratory Cardinals RC.

Niall has had the opportunity of being the adjutant for the Scottish U25s for the U25 national and Scotland during the Lawrence match between Scotland and England.

What he's hoping to achieve on this tour

To add to his experience of being adjutant to Scotland mentioned above, he is hoping that this tour will help provide him with further experience and knowledge that will get him well on his way to shooting for these teams and more in the near future.
