Ian Brown

About him
Ian is, theoretically, retired, and restricts his activities to running a property company, four cars – one under restoration - around 25 ancient and modern guns (plus some pistols residing in Switzerland), a grand player piano and a scottish deerhound. He also fits in some gunsmithing and gardening.
Shooting experience
Ian Started rifle shooting with the world-famous Wandsworth fullbore club, and progressed to Surrey, Wiltshire, England and Great Britain teams, visiting Norway, Switzerland, The Channel Islands, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, France and USA.
Ian has won a few NRA Imperial Meeting trophies, both target rifle and match rifle. He shoots vintage and long-range smallbore, .308 target rifle and match rifle, .50BMG where feasible, black powder occasionally, and game during the winter.
Biggest buzz is team shooting, particularly the modern way, combining shooter, wind coach and plotter, so that three sets of brains and experience are harnessed to hit the middle of one small target.
Best shooting moment: collecting the Canadian ‘Families’ trophy with son Alastair.
Second best: straight away afterwards winning the Governor General's in a tie-shoot in near-darkness..
What he's hoping to achieve on this tour
Renewing some (very) old friendships.
Keeping up with the phenomenal performance of our youngsters.
But mainly: beating Guernsey and Jersey.
