#3 Sark sightseeing

The day started well with a great hotel breakfast before a prompt departure at 0912. The destination was St Peter's Port so we could get the ferry to Sark where we would be spending most of the day. We had a quick 5 minutes to nip to the shops and pick up the bits we’d all forgotten to pack.
Unfortunately some people (no names, Niall!) took 10! However, we just made it on to the boat before it set off, allowing the Captain and adjutant to breathe a big sigh of relief.
With good weather and a calm sea we made great time with only a handful of the team turning green. On arrival we faced a rather intense hill climb before it finally flattened out and we were able to take in the fantastic coastal views. With two and a half hours before our lunch booking at La Sablonnerie you would think we had plenty of time to explore the small island and get there on time, wouldn’t you?! Well, we arrived twenty minutes late and having walked what felt like a marathon (via the Pilcher monument and the incredible views from the La Coupée walkway to Little Sark).
However, we were in for a treat when we arrived and were greeted by the lovely, and very unique, Elizabeth. She was the hostess with the mostess and along with providing us with some of the most incredible food and home brewed sloe gin, told us all about the quaint and simple island life.
Obviously the next thing we needed after this was an ice cream, so off we set. The Captain was
so desperate to get hers she slid half way down the hill to make sure she beat the rush! The adjutant, in a similar display to maintain his figure, started queuing for his second (and then third!) whilst still on his first.
The return journey involved a slightly wetter trip on the boat. After 20 minutes of cruising, first Iain, followed by Niall and shortly after Nigel, appeared, each wetter than the last having enjoyed the waves breaking over the front of the boat. A quick drive back to the hotel for one, or five, G and Ts brings our day to a close with our first day of shooting to look forward to tomorrow
