It was time to begin; we assembled in the LMRA for lunch and to discuss the team tactics for the day before heading out for a team match at 300, 500 and 600 yards. Having seen a light shower out the window during lunch we were all a bit apprehensive of what the afternoon had in store… not wanting to get our kit wet before travelling the next day! Well that aspiration went down hill pretty quickly.
The weather forecast of ‘intermittent showers’ was a bit more of an understatement! With ominous clouds on the horizon we watched on as they crawled their way towards us to give a spectacular hailstorm complete with thunder and the odd strike of fork lightning. It went as quickly as it came, to the relief of all with the welcoming sight of bright, warming sunshine. It was not to remain however with the same thing happening at 500 yards and conveniently, or in-conveniently depending on who you talk to, occurring at the same time through our shoot as the first time… meaning the same people got wet!
All wrapped up by the 4:30 we were ready for the calling of a warm shower before our wonderful evening kindly hosted by the LMRA team. Results were given with the LMRA just beating us to the win with a score of 1149.93v’s over our still commendable score of 1140.99v’s.
